Import and archive
For anyone digitising years of existing paperwork. Most people never need this.
Import existing documents
Drop in invoices, receipts, warranties and inspection reports. Each is read on this device and filed against whichever passport the evidence points to.
Build a passport from an archive
Start from the paperwork instead of the passport. Import a batch of documents for assets you have no passports for yet, and create them from what the documents turn out to describe.
Every record, in one list
The flat view across everything you own, with filters. Records normally live in the history of whatever they belong to.
Understand your history
What the records add up to, and how they're read. Useful once there's a lot of history; safely ignored until then.
Insights
Spend by trade, spend over time, which providers you keep going back to, and how much of the history would survive scrutiny. Confirmed records only.

Data handling
- Documents are read on this device
OCR runs in your browser. The recognition engine and its language model are served from our own origin, so no third party ever learns that you're scanning something.
- Document images travel with the passport
The photo or PDF is kept on this device so it opens instantly and works with no signal, and a copy is saved to your workspace so it survives a lost laptop, appears on your phone, and goes to the new owner when you hand the passport over. Turn that off below to keep images on this device only.
- Extracted details sync to your workspace
Provider, date, amount, category and trust score, along with the details you record about it — condition, floor area, zoning — and the one cover photo you choose to represent it. Saved to your Troolink workspace so a passport survives losing this device.
Off by default. The full text of an invoice is the most sensitive thing here — turning this on makes search work across devices, at the cost of that text leaving this one.
On by default. Keeping images here is what lets a scan survive a lost laptop, open on your phone, and reach the new owner when you hand a passport over. Turn it off and images stay in the browser that scanned them, which means a handover passes on the record without the invoice behind it.
Reload from your account
Takes a fresh copy of everything from your account and replaces what is stored in this browser. Use it if a passport here looks out of date, or a change you make keeps reverting. Anything not yet synced from this device will be discarded, so it is sent first.
Take your data with you
Everything is exportable in plain formats. A history you can't get out isn't much of a history.
Read your documents again
The reader gets better over time, and it learns from your corrections — but a record keeps whatever it was given on the day it was added. This re-reads the text already stored with each document, so nothing is uploaded and no recognition runs.

Confirmed records are left alone here — they're part of a history someone may already rely on. Re-read one from its own screen, where you can see exactly what would change before accepting it. Anything you typed yourself is never overwritten either way.
What you use TrooLink for
It decides where the app opens and what it suggests. It does not change what you can do, and it is not a plan.
